Creativity is life.
Art-making is as much about process as it is about result. For me, the delight of creating art is in the actual materials. Mixing paint, polishing metal, layering paper and smudging pigment are the visceral joys from which true art is born. Because of this belief, many media are explored in my studio. Acrylic paint, stained glass, metals, stone and clay to name just a few. I often find inspiration in the oddest of places- reflections off of the shiny bumper of the car in front of me at the red light; in the way blackberry jam smears on my bright white napkin or even in the gentle journey of a lonely dust bunny skittering along the hardwood floor... I know, weird. Anyways... In 2016, I relocated to Washington State from Massachusetts where I taught Visual Art for sixteen years at a private High School. I've also taught younger students in after-school programs, recreation departments and summer camps, volunteered with Coffee Oasis, Girl Scouts of Western Washington and North Kitsap Fishline. I’ve recently moved to Bainbridge Island and look forward to meeting you and exploring art together!
